If anyone help me, I'm trying to put together a luck spell. I'm thinking using a sigil for visual focus, as well as incense, though I'm not sure what incense. Anyone else have any other ideas?

Take a look at what you already have on hand that you can associate with attracting abundance, good fortune, luck and build from there. Decide what form to use to hold the spell based on what you have to work with. since you've mentioned a sigil, will it be on paper and carried? Or burned? Will you add a sigil paper Or it's ashes to a container such as a jar or even stitched on a charm bag to carry? Carve the sigil on a candle? Use what you have on hand to determine what form it will use.

Make an offering of a poker chip, playing cards and the racing form from the paper or dice. Even if you've never used any of those, you're still in the game with the most insane odds and rules you {hopefully} figure out as you go. LIFE

Have a chat with your God/Goddess/Spirit Guide and candidly focus narrowly on exactly the issue at hand. Not open ended luck in general but the precise target you need to accomplish. No such thing as random luck.
My Goddess has been pretty on target manifesting what is best for me and often saving myself from myself.

I was thinking writing my sigil on petition paper and burning it into my cauldron and send it to the astral.

I understand what you mean, I've been trying to wrap my mind around such ideas and trying to find my own direction when it comes to focus and affecting the Web of Fate or luck with magic, but I just need to get some opinions before anything.

I will have a chat with them, though I feel I should have some kind of hand in determining my fate and where my direction is. As for 'random luck', I understand when it comes to those who have destinies, but I believe there are people in the world that end up with the short end of the stick just because, not because it was predestined.

Take a look at the Witchcradt & Wicca 101 section, specifically the Correspondences topic. You'll find lists of properties associated with hundreds of items. My personal favorite incense is a mix of powdered cinnamon, a few pinches of unsweetened powdered cocoa & coffee grounds (i even make it sweetened & add creamer powder to drink!) Sandalwood and cinnamon is another.

The most vital part of a spell is having a wrong clear idea of what you want. The method used is based on what you have to work with.
