I was reading through the spells at the top of this site just out of curiosity, looking for ones I could borrow and write down to do some unknown point in the future, ones that were few in ingredients and seemed easy enough and I came across this Jar Love Spell and I was wondering to anybody who has done it how did it go for you?

I’ve used something similar.

It’s like taking a photograph of the future.

Another way of explaining it is that intent is the most important part of the spell :)

When it says enchant, is that harmless to the person you're doing it on? Like it's used to bring you a specific person yes?

No love spell is without its faults.

If you ‘enchant’ it correctly then it won’t cause harm, but they don’t always work out on account of Free Will

Enchant is another way of saying to psychically charge the item with your intent. Your intention determines the level of coercion. One way to think of this is that honey is sweet so a honey-jar spell will "sweeten" the target person's formerly "sour" attitude in your favor. I've not used it myself.

Oh okay, I read it wrong then I think I took it as enchanting the person, but you're enchanting the jar/photo so as to have an effect on the person. And that by your intent it'll determine to what degree. That does sound a little bit less coercive. I took it as enchanting the person so that they'd :fairy: have feelings for you. It's worded in such a way that it sounds like waving a wand at the person in the photo and going poof, you love me now!

Everything I have done so far in my short time of practice has been directed at specific people, friends family etc, but I always try and do things sort of in a *nudge nudge* kind of way rather than a "YOU WILL DO THIS" way, which is how I interpreted that spell.

Well, so-called love spells are intended to enchant the other person. You decide how much.

The other part I was unsure of is that it says to "Take the jar to a stream or lake and deposit it there when you have achieved your desire"

Does this mean to take it and empty it into a lake/stream or to toss the whole jar in? 'Cause the latter sounds like littering and I don't really want to do that.

Nah, don't litter. It's a way to dismantle a finished spell. You can wash the jar in the sink for the same purpose. Some who work with spirit-of-place feel "living" water is preferred over tap water, but the intent is the same.
