"We're done" - Spell to put something out of your mind

This is a spell I came up with to help you put something out of your mind. It's intended for those times when something has finished but you keep thinking about it. If it's time to stop thinking about the past, here's a spell that might help you do that. I call it 'We're done'.

You will need paper, something to write with and a candle (the candle is optional and preferably black)

Step 1: On the piece of paper, write the name of the person, place or situation that you want to stop thinking about.
Step 2: Light the candle and place the piece of paper in front of it.
Step 3: Look at what you've written and think about why you want to put it behind you. Don't glorify the situation; try to focus on why it couldn't work, and how thinking about the past is not doing you any favours now.Take as long as you need with this step.
Step 4: Cross out what you have written on the paper. You can scribble it out, erase it, pour wax all over it- whatever you want to do to make the writing illegible.
Step 5: Rip up the paper and throw it in the garbage (not recycling) unceremoniously. This thing is no longer important to you so don't treat the piece of paper with any undue respect.
Step 6: Blow out the candle and we're done.

This is incredibly helpful to me as I tend to dwell on things way too much. Thank you ever so much!

.

I like it, simple and to the point, requiring no witchy things so could be done anywhere by anyone (thoughts really are things, folks, be careful how you use them!)

Nice spell, Obsidian smiley_dance (and into my Grimmy it goes).

Obsidian...
THANK YOU !!!
There are no coincidence, everything happens for a reason;
just like this ! A few days ago, sometime around the 4th :fairy:
I was contemplating how can I get these thoughts of my past
out of my head so I they don't bother me, usually when I try
to sleep-the worst time ! A few things early in my life happened
and I don't want to dwell on them. It only makes me feel anxious
and that makes it harder to get to sleep. I do believe this will
help. Thanks again !

It's slightly scary how I came on here going, "Oh, I need to write something to help me let go of this relationship" ("this relationship" being a restarted relationship with one of my best friends who I think needs to stay my best friend and not my boyfriend) "maybe I can get some advice" and then one of the first threads I see is this one. I'll doubtlessly modify this because I DEFINITELY do not want him out of my life completely - I just want some help letting go of the romantic relationship. I've been best friends with him for over seven years now and I don't want that to end; in all that time he's always stayed by me, he has been completely loyal and honest (sometimes brutally so) and he has never done anything to drive me away. I just feel like the romantic part of this isn't working. So thank you very much for this.
