Mouse removal spell?

So I am taking mundane measures to ensure that no more mice get into my place, but twice this week my cat has caught a mouse. Last night it was in our bedroom and on our bed when the cat caught him. We think we know where they are coming in from (we have a dryer vent but no dryer yet). So does any one know of any spells that may be useful in adding an extra umph to the work we are doing?

Do you do any work with thoughtforms/fetch? Also, peppermint essential oil on cotton balls around where they get in. Won't hurt them, but they hate the smell

I wish I had some peppermint essential oil. I have peppermint dried herbs but no essential oil.

As for working with the fetch in that way I never have. Though as I see part of my spirit as a rather large cat (a snow leapord to be precisie) I was thinking about how I could work with that.

The other idea I had was maybe to contact Bastet and have her be protecting my home. I'm sure mice would be scared of her (considering her alter ego Shekmet is a scary lioness).

I've just never done any sort of protection from animals or animal banishment type work that I didn't really know what to do,

It's not really a spell-focused idea, but there were mice in my place before we moved in (and for the first several months we were here). It's something I had never really encountered before, and it may not help you... But it seemed like they stopped becoming so brazen and left the living vicinity after we started spending more time, doing more things (especially cleaning out the area frequently). Maybe it's a smell thing? Or a traffic thing? I'm not really sure, but if the area is particularly dusty and unused, it may be worth a try to keep it clean and sanitized and frequently passing through that area.

Hmm.. house or apartment? I'm thinking a pied piper type thougtform, but those do work better if you can feed them away from your place, otherwise they bring the critters back when they come.

Also, @ Vesca, iirc, mice eat bugs and roaches and stuff that eat dust, get rid of the dust, the mice lose a food source, but I might be remembering wrong

They are comming in through the dryer vent in our pantry/washer/storage area. The funny thing is that the cat's food dish is there as well as his water bowl and his litter box. So there is feline scent all over the place. I'm surprised they are getting in in that area. By the dryer there is no actual food but cleaning supplies.

our furnace is located in this area as is the water heater. So I dont think its a food thing as much as a warmth thing. I'm in Maine. Its friggin cold here, especially right now where there is a storm going on.

Ah that could be it too. I've heard of the cat scent thing supposedly being a deterrent for mice, but we brought all 3 of my parent's cats into my home when we started seeing mice and it did nothing for us. That being said... none of those 3 cats hunt either. :P

The dust-food source thing is interesting, that might explain it.

Oh well, hopefully some other ideas will work for your situation! :)

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this for me please? I have done some work with magical thought forms. When you cast mental spells and work mental magic all your magic consists of thought forms. I'd like to know where you are going with this.

I live in a duplex. There is a road away from me I can use to lead critters away from.

You may know them by other names, egregore, although that's more a group mind thing usually, or "artificial elemental". Basically an artificially created spirit, usually "programmed" with an intent. In this case, a spirit or self aware (or at least semi self aware) entity can lead the mice away. It takes some time to get the hang of making them, but they can help with just about anything. I suggest one to lead them away, rather than chase them off, or else you'll just share with the neighbors.

Yes. I do know I about working with them. I have never attempted to work with one or create one but I understand the theory and concept. The mental magic and visualizations I have worked to be on time for buses and to gain protection work along a similar concept. Though those thought packets are smaller and not really aware. They are spirit entities but not aware. Sort of like a drone with basic programing to perform one task and then destruct. Thats the mental visualization magic I have worked for a while.

I am working a blessing and protection rite tomorrow night as part of the full moon. I may add to that by creating the spirit for this action as part of that. Or I may do on spell earlier in the day and one later on in the evening. That would probably be more effective. In either case i think you just gave me a way to work a spell or magical rite for this that could prove to be effective.

Glad I could help. One note if I may... of course a spirit like that will have a Name that I myself would keep private. As they need care and feeding however, it might help to give it a use name as well, in case you feed it in a public or semi-public setting. Kind of like having a public and private Craft name. Don't know if it's something you'd use, but I wanted to plant the thought

No its a good idea. Thank you very much for giving me this idea. It will be an interesting thing to try. I'm probably going to use a feline style spirit for this. I like the idea of chasing them out of the neighborhood and back into the deeper woods behind my place.

Make sachets of pet bedding pine shavings heavily laced in balsam oil. Tuck them into hidden corners, under the stove, fridge, inside lower cupboards, etc. mice detest the the scent. This works! Cotton balls soaked in balsam might work in the very small areas.
