Everything Under the Moon

With a full moon ripe in the sky tomorrow night, I've got my preparations in line to have a mirror in the making. After a good few nights of moon bathing, it'll be painted to what I sure hope will be glossy black perfection. I like to use the dark and new moon to actually consecrate and charge tools for divination for the Unseen-to-Seen symbolism, so I'll let the mirror chill in a cozy little "grave" until then.

When you practice scrying do you ask questions and look for the answer in the mirror? Have you seen results from this technique?

Though I use optical depths, the actions are the same. Make sure you have grounded and centered your self. I have a saying - There are old users of the Arts. There are bold users of the Arts. There are NO old, bold users of the Arts. Call a protection on yourself. Once in a while if you lose concentration you can get bleed in of "visions" that can be inimical. Concentrate on your desire it could be knowledge from the akashic record or elsewhere, contact with an entity, introspection for self understanding and improvement , etcetera.

You can of course verbalize to help your concentration. I would advise to be task specific. Break contact between each course of action. No apples and oranges. Changing questions of the akashic record is OK, changing from the record to an entity is NOT. Even though the action {knowledge gathering} is the same the sources differ radically. Take the time to disengage, re-center etc and then proceed. I think with practice, if you keep these steps in mind you will have happy, fulfilling experiences.

Akashic record? I haven't heard of that?

From the Vedic tradition of the Indian sub-continent. The concept is seen in other traditions by other names. All knowledge is forever present, it is we who are moving and you can become time free and access all knowledge.

Can you try the black mirror scrying on a day other than Samhain?

Absolutely! In fact anytime you feel the need to scry is a fine time. Although certain times of year like Samhain and Yule are excellent because are experiencing the dark times of year
... but also when the Moon is in it Dark phase is good time in any month.

I've found that if you have a room you can make very dark, you can use it easily. In my case I hang the two mirrors and leave the room for about an hour. I go back in and double check any spells I deemed it prudent to work. I then sit down, light the two candles and I'm set to scry

Very nice post. We use principles of the black scrying mirror as an interdimensional portal in the CIA Star Gate program.

What also works is a regular mirror tilted to have no reflections other then a blank ceiling etc.

LoL, @ Mikayla...I'm pretty sure Shekinah is this only one currently, but we have had some members who have been in the military, and there are many of us who have delt with the MIEC.
