Hello everyone,
My boyfriend has an amazing case of social anxiety. The poor guy is always on edge. I want to help ease his anxiety with a gem, but I don't have an idea of what to get. Also, when I go to choose it, how will I know I am picking the right one? Lastly, if I do find one, am I sopposed to cleanse it? Put a spell on it?
Please help this newbie :?

Hi Water Centaur,

I am using Danburite to relieve stress & worry for my husband as part of an amulet pouch (among other stones). I took my husband with me to pick the stones. He picked which ever one "spoke to him". On the full moon night I am going to cleanse it and going to ask the goddess & god of Earth, Moon & Sky to charge the stones & the pouch in a ritual (stating for whom it is, name of each stones and the purpose I am using it for, since a few of the stones have multiple puposes). I am going to leave it outside under the light of the full moon so that the stones can be charged with the energy to be used next day. I write my own rituals so I am working on that part right now....I find that if the ritual is your own it works much better. After that the stones will need to be recharged every full moon using the same ritual

Hope this helps!

Please always remember to cleanse your stones when you purchase them. You don't know how they came into existance and the memories they hold. There is also the possibility of different people holding the stones or mining them. You just do not know what memories came with the stone.

Pegasus and silver dove, thank you so much for your help. I am going to surprise him with a pouch for christmas. :D Thanks for the reminder to cleanse them, I have even forgotten to cleanse my own stones.

I agree, cleanse them first. You can also remove some stubborn dirt and hand oil from people touching them...by rubbing cocoa butter lotion. Put on a generous amount, rub around for a while, wipe off the excess. I always do that... some rough stones, crystals, I couldn't get them even to look clean until doing that...not lots soap and water could get these stones shined up.

Agreed with y'all! Cleansing is a huge part of working with crystals. However, I find the longer I have a stone the less cleansing it needs (unless of course I am using it for crystal healings on others). In short, one's energy field and the stone's energetic pulse adapt to each other over time and become almost familial. Thus, cleansing them after each personal use is not necessary after a while, but at first, it is wise to do so.

I agree with Silver Dove (I am growing fond of you!!)..Danburite is a good all purpose calming stone. Lithium bearing stones really help release stress such as Lepidolite, some kinds of Tourmaline, Petalite (one of my fav's) and one of the best of all time is by far Amblygonite. Be careful with all of these stones though as they do not like to get wet.

Vetting out the source of the stress also dictates which stones are best to use. If it is a matter of low self-confidence (which it usually is) try some vitalizing stones like Tiger Eye, Ruby, Pyrite, Marcasite, even Alamadine garnet. In fact, blending, say a rough piece of ruby with Amblygonite with a clear danburite would be a great mix for both release of old energies and creation of new, fresh vital energy to use.

Hi Water Centaur.

Sorry to hear about your boyfriend having social anxiety, it's perfectly understandable though.

I find Citrine to be a great one for removing negative energies, and Rose Quartz is good for worry and anxiety. Just having either one or even both of these stones in your pocket or close by is a great help, but he has to believe in them. If you're determined that they will fail, then they won't be able to do their job.

As for cleansing, sorry, I am not familiar with it. I have never cleansed a stone, I just carry them with me when I need them. Although...they've been through the wash a couple of times lol accidentally, of course. I don't recommend putting your stones through the washing machine xD

Hope this helps, and let us know how your boyfriend gets on!

Hehehe!

Wow LA, it's like you already knew about his skepticism! He's an aquarius both in his sun and moon, so it fits that he takes the scientific and logical path in life. It's not always easy for him accept metaphysics, but he tries and that's what I love about him. ♥

Thanks BSP for the variety of stones I can use I will keep those in mind. Will getting them wet corrode them? Also, are there stones that prefer to get wet?

Thanks Cherokeewind. Coco butter you say? Are there any stones I should not use that on?

I was thinking about making his pouch for him, but I think it would be best if I took him with me to get the stones. It would give him a chance to see which one he connects with best. Anyhow, after his pouch is finished, I will make sure to let you know how he fares.

I haven't found any stones yet, that you can't use cacoa butter lotion on...but I wouldn't try that on any mineral that can make powder when rubbed.

Mixing stones like bsp mentioned is something I've been doing a lot for healing. Stone energies can be combined to give new healing properties, then depending on what candle color (if using one).

Different thigns work for different people. I never do anything to cleanse my stones, some of which I've had for almost ten years. I don't generally have a problem with people holding my stones, but they seem to take care of themselves...there are some that just won't let other people hold them, if anyone, or certain people try to pick them up, they drop them repeatedly for example.

Please don't think that everyone has the same experiences as you, or needs to treat their belongings in the same manner.

I find mookaite, hemimorphite and tangerine quartz to be very calming stones. Labradorite is a good one too- the more flashy and reflective, the better, I see it as a very protective stone, the reflective properties keeping what you don't want at bay.

I know a number of people who find black tourmaline, hematite, smoky quartz and jet very good for these properties. These stones don't do much of anything for me (and I tend to be repelled by hematite and jet), but they do seem to work for a lot of other folks.

Hi Water Centaur,

Just an FYI..I gave the pouch to my hubby and it really seems to be working for him, even though he was not quite sure that these things work. I asked him to just keep an open mind. As a matter of fact I gave it to him before I charged it on full moon. I just cleansed the stones and pouch with incense (Frankinsense & Myrrh) outdoors saying "as the wind cleanse thee from all the negativity may your powers shine thru to benefit all and harm none." Than I gave it to him. I told him what each stone was for so he can take them out if he needs to hold them to feel it's power working or need extra boost. They started taking effect from than but now that they are charged under full moon they seem to be working full force. I believe that the 3 reasons this pouch works for him is because 1. he asked for me to help him 2. he kept an open mind and went to pick his own stones with me so in a way he merged his energy with the energy of the stones. 3. He lent his energy while I was doing the ritual by just observing what I was doing (he was sitting outside on the bench to keep an eye on me so that I don't get kidnapped in the middle of the night while doing my magic by some lunatic...LOL!!)

Well I hope this information is of some benefit to you. Let me know if you want details of my ritual....if you think it will be of some help to you.
