Last night I went out and i had my black tormaline necklace on. I didnt get stuck on anything or hit it on anything but when i went to the bathroom it was broken clean off. Does this normaly happen?

There are two possibilities. One, tourmaline can cleve pretty easily, especially if it had a fault line there to begin with.

Second, it may have done some heavy work protecting or grounding you... ie. it got overloaded with energy, and split in half. I've had this happen before... though it was green tourmaline, not black.

If the energy seems distinctly off for some reason, then it's probably the latter. A stone that had a fault line in it in the first place won't feel that different if it just split.

My advice is to find a piece to replace it and let it rest for a while... then decide if it's still yours. Sometimes, the only thing to do is leave it somewhere (if it wants to find a new owner) or bury it.

I think it was a combination of the two. I believe there was a small faultline, but it feels VERY different. I cant even put it on, it feels (for lack of a better term) Icky. It just doesnt feel right. Ill leave it be for this next week and go from there. It was just a very odd happening. Well i guess its time for another trip to my "local" shop. Thanks!

Wow---that is wierd Lady Garnet. . .I have to say that I work with Black tourmaline pretty much more than any other stone and have a few specimens, but one in particular is the one of choice. I have worn it for years without too much trouble--except a bit of erosion. If a stone like that does this to you, then it is trying to teach you something. Perhaps that tourmaline "belonged" to someone else? Perhaps there was so much dark energy surrounding it that it could not absorb it (although this is very unlikely since Black tourmaline can transpose even the power of "demons"). . .It could be a simple guide who is guiding you to another tourmaline that really needs to be with you. Regardless, I am sure it has your overall protection and purification in mind. . .you'll see. . .
