There will be a rock/mineral/crystal show in Indianapolis, IN. on Feb. 16-18 at the Indiana State Museum.
I'll be there along with other vendors from around the area!

How did it go? I wish I lived nearby, I love rock and mineral shows!

It went GREAT! Sold a lot of small stuff to the school kids (had 1,100 descend down on the show at one time! ), plus sold a couple of expensive items too ( including a 102 lb. hollow log of petrified wood). the kids were great. At my booth I let the kids touch the rocks- i only have two rules; 1) on the small stuff in the trays, please put it back in the same tray. 2) you may touch the big rocks, just don't pick them up- I don't want it slipping out of their hands and landing on their toes! Kids have 5 senses, how can they learn if they can't use them all!

The museum was very pleased with our interaction with the kids (most other dealers are strictly "don't touch that unless you can buy it"). We have been asked to come back next year!!!! WOOT!

The White River Grove of the ADF received a donation from us in excess of $300 from our proceeds from this show. Our treasurer is breathing much easier right now.

Wow Ed! That sounds like a great success! So glad you had a good show, and your patience in giving the kids a chance to "experience" the rocks is commendable...you may have to remove the evil from your name!

I love how you got the kids interacting with the items! Our small local show has a lot of dealers like that, very good with our kids when they were younger.it was always very educational!

Do you ever travel to other states? I have a soapstone pyramid that I bought from Mossrock Jack some years ago. A former patient of mine was a rockhound, and got me interested in the stuff.

I'm just starting out, and this was my first rock show, and second show ever with my own stuff ( first one was Pagan Pride last fall in Indianapolis. I've helped a friend of mine with her booth [faceted gemstones] for over 30 years.). I want to add shows until I have about 12 a year before I retire from my real job. I'd love to do a show or two out west, in the Colorado area!
