Can not sand stand for Earth also, and a feather for air? Or does it have to be certain items?

For a witch her circle is something very personall , its the place where she does her magic so it needs to be safe, warm, comfy. Thats why when opening the circle the vizualization and the chant they do should be something personal.

We Indians(HINDUS) religiously believe in five elements, and we dont have witchcrafts, but its the part of our religion and we have to use and represent them in all our rituals.

PAANCHA BHUT - Five Elements

MRITTIKA-EARTH
AP-WATER
VAYU-AIR
TEJA-FIRE
VYOM-SKY

now the last one or the fifth element is the sky,the definition of this one is not clear to me,somewhere it is represented as the aether, somewhere space n layman like me calls it sky.Wat is the actual element then???
Scientifcally speakin,as it represents the Space which is synonymous to Vacuum in the universe.........does it represent the Dark Matter ???
Because we all know that there isnt any actual vacuum, unanswered forms of energy and mass has shown its presence even in the vacuum, which scientists call dark matter........!!!!

I believe that if we ever understand the spirit of such an element, we know we have a powerful element.

Witch13, thank you for that first post! Very informative. (Those element stones are gorgeous, by the way.)

Hello!

I've found a lot of your posts really helpful up to here, and I'm really grateful for the help.

However, I was curious as to whether or not the elements' seasons and directions are fluid, as most of the other symbols/meanings have so far (ex: colours being whatever the caster may associate with the desired effect). Personally, I see Air as Autumn, with Earth as Spring and Water as Winter. Would it affect a spell greatly to change the personal meanings, or is this something that should not be trifled with?

Thank you all in advance for the help. :3

In my practice, only three "elements" are observed.

Sky
Land
Sea

Respectively. That's how I observe it as a Celtic Pagan, but in working eclectic magics, I do sometimes throw in fire.

on my handmade pentacle, i traced the spirit triangle with grey, water with deep blue, earth with brown, fire with red and air with light blue. spirit or air could've been white because i dont have white texta! lol

This is wonderful and so glad it is available.

So, when casting a circle all you have to do is imagine a kind of a bubble around you? And then recite a type of prayer? What are some examples of Circle Casting? How do you guys do it? I want to know other people's ways, so that I might incorporate them in my ritual. Anyone?
