Everything Under the Moon

Im new to wicca - and wanted to know about the terms Black & white ( witches & magic ) Does the Term Black ? =Evil & white ? = good ?

Some would say so.
But I feel like there are many shades of grey in-between, none of it inherently good or bad...it just is.

White: old
Black: new
Good: positive
Evil: negative

White evil would be a case to study. Princess Diana? Mother Teresa? Not everything is wrong...

edit: I just had a chat with Mother Teresa, finding: magic is good - bad anything just does not happen itself.

Good, bad, historical? Hygromanteia goes rogue only as far as the spell "to make noble lady fall in love with you," which can be used in both good and the bad way. Quote above is up to an evaluation of what is your enemy.

So what was with the Princess Diana? My feeling was that it only made me pissed that they always kill the good ones first & let the bastards live...

But if you search for black magic or dark arts keywords you might as well find the kind of stuff forbidden here such as cursing, destructive energy directed at other person and the similar.

In my opinion its best not to categorize things as either and learn about all. Including the dreaded "black" side of things, then apply that knowledge on doing the right thing. If your morals are as they should, you will know the do's and do not's. But knowledge is power and labeling things into black and white isn't that good idea.

This ofc is just my opinion, these are tricky questions as the answer depends on who's answering.

I'm not quite sure how to categorise this.
You can make a return-to-sender spell to defend against people
or you can make a "retribution" spell meaning return-to-sender and seal it there.

Now if you care for yourself you just return the malevolence to sender. If you wanna play police you can seal it there so that they won't hurt anyone next. But wouldn't it be too sadistic to keep all that negative energy just sealed at their place? How does that energy behave afterwards?

I think most people casually use the term "white" magic to refer to helpful spells & blessings and use the term "black" magic to refer to harmful intentions. The magic as energy is neutral & goes where it's sent. The caster's intention vary with their moral compass. A white/black witch is one who chooses to help/harm.

Thanks MizLynn3, I've dealt with some really nasty things in the past, so I'm usually quite well protected, or at least I pay attention to it. But on this regard, more often is more.

I am protected always. Being a HSP n an empath, I am aware of others n their intentions and sometimes it’s not always good. There are some people out there that will steal your energy with out a second thought. There are also those that project what they feel to you, psychic attacks. You can never be to careful. Especially now a days.
