What's an Illuminator Candle?

I have no idea what it is, and I've searched google, and it there was only references to it

I believe it's the candle that you use to light all the other candles in your circle / on your altar / during a ritual.. From what I know, anyway.

Anybody else clarify this?

Illuminator candles are like table lamps - their purpose is to make light so that we can see what we're doing at night & read the instructions. They're set out of the way to the back/sides of an altar table arrangement. They aren't spell candles. The "working candle" or a lighting-straw is used to light spell tapers instead of directly applying sulfur coated matches that purists feel might effect a spell. Use a Bic.
