When a spell or, in this case, charm calls for a cloth bag, does the material matter? The only colored bags I have are velvet. I'm going to have to find a new supply store out here eventually, wondering if that day is tomorrow.

As long as its not a synthetic fabric i think any fabric will do. Personally I like cotton it comes its all different colors its cheap and its an easy material to sew for those without much sewing experience. Also you can get unbleached muslin which is cheap cheap cheap and dye it a color of your choosing using natural dye which you can make yoruself from vegetables and such. Its real easy.

A bag is just a container. Felt & cotton flannel are often used. Ive substituted a paper coffee filter for the bag & can draw on sigils, fold it up & tie it with colored yarn. It’s burnable and biodegradable.
