Decluttering is one of my favorite activities. Out with the old. Right now I'm on this whole minimalism kick. We have 3 large plates, 3 small plates, 3 bowls, a few coffee mugs, 3 forks, 2 spoons, 2 knives and cooking utencils. Honestly we just got sick of washing so many dishes between two people that we decided to cut down.

That's just the kitchen. I have a pretty minimal wardrobe as well, though I was reading about these people that have "capsule wardrobs". They have 30 or less items including socks/underwear/jewelry etc.. I don't think I could do that. I like my pattern leggings too much.

FF, I'm sorry I didn't say it correctly. I throw out papers but I don't throw books. I either donate them to the library or sell for a very symbolic price (1-5€). There was a time when I kept all of them to see how "well-read" I am :-) But a) I only have limited space and b) I'm lazy to dust them. And the truth is that I never reread them anyway.

Bychan, I love your "forgot about it" criterion! That's a great one to put into practice :-)

Twilight Dancer, that's exactly my idea of simple, clutter free life. I believe it's healthier to live in such a clean environment. Hehe, I'm not far away from those who have 30 clothes. If socks, underwear and earrings count then yes, I do have more than 30. If only trousers, two skirts, one dress and tops counted, I would fit into capsule wardrobe category easily :-)

@ moonraingirl yes, though even to donate, which is good, would be hard for me :fairy: I have a large library and wish to expand :D

My city has an agreement with another city from the Republic of Moldova and we donate books to each other. You can even write a nice message for the one who will receive the book. Same happens with toys and school manuals. You take them all, put them in a box before Christmas and write a nice letter which you sign or just write anonymous and the specify the age range of the child who can receive your box. This way, Santa can come to the poor children from Romania or Moldova too.

Yeah, that's an awesome idea.

I wish more places did things like that.

That's very nice indeed. It must mean a lot to the poor children. I wonder what language do you write the letter in?

FF, it must be cool to have a large library. Do you know how many books you have?

In Romanian. The language they speak in Moldova is Romanian with an accent.( I so love that accent!) And some of the gifts are also sent to the poor children in out own country. It just depends on the age and on how long the content can be stored.(if it's food, it goes to someone closer, so that is can remain eatable)

Oh, I see! :) I was wondering if it was English but that would probably be the same problem as here (not everyone speaks it). Then I thought Russian? No. German? No :)

BTW has anyone noticed that youtube videos are grouped by race? I always see only white people in the videos. Once in few months I see someone with another race and when I click on it there are only videos of black or asian people? The topic is still the same but you almost always see only people of the same race associated with the video?(ie. you only see white, or only black or only asian videos in recommendations) How technically do they do that and why?
I wonder if it only appears to me like that because I live in a country with 99% of white population and you guys from more diverse regions see more variety in the videos?
I don't mean any insult by asking this. Hope I haven't offended anyone. It's just something I noticed and I wonder how and why youtube does that.

I think it depends on what you are interested in. I watch mostly music, medical or MSF videos and there are all races mixed in there. The recommendations are also based on that so...I never really experienced that lol

Yes, it may be so. Those topics are really universal.
I watch mostly videos about pets, reading, languages, culture and some asmr. And many random topics that I am deeply interested in for couple of weeks and then forget about them :D This "racial divide" is quite noticeable in videos about literature- book reviews and I also noticed it in housekeeping, cooking and cosmetics videos.

I like the new law they passed today. All shops will have to be closed on all 15 state and church holidays. This is to protect cashiers who are mostly mothers with children. I remember when I was little, maybe until year 2000, all shops were closed on Sundays. They are still closed in Germany and few other European countries. I hope they will ban shopping on Sundays again here.
I feel bad for poor people who work like slaves for minimal wage. And it is also a statement about values of society.

That moment when someone is talking to you like an old friend and you have absolutely no idea who they are. So you're smiling ear to ear and trying to react friendly.
