Dream: Going home forever

A beautiful and significant dream which I struggle to "get to grips with".
- it is populated with actors playing roles in it (getting better at recalling the dream details).
The scene: a very busy window fronted ground floor office in some American bustling city. The office is awash with noise, phones, conversations, paperwork and at the centre of all this is out first character played by the actor Mark Strong. He is wearing one of those horrible red 80's pinstripe shirts and red braces, blue suit trousers and he is exhausted by all the hustle around him. Outside the office are our other two characters, a spry but elderly gent in a old suit (Christopher Plumber), overcoat and hat and a young girl (possibly granddaughter) in a black beret and a formal grey coat (like the sort girls wore in footage of WW2 evacuations) - both noticeably winter wear (it isn't winter) and "old fashioned" in their own ways. A large wooden easel is being lowered on a rope (much like one I have in my loft) except it has an added feature on an arm (like a attached adjustable surface for equipment and paints).
As it is clumsily lowered down the gent and girl question what it is and the man in the shirt comes out the office to be greeted with the chaotic street scene - traffic, horns, jackhammer from construction - and explains what it is - it is his but he just had too much stuff and is getting rid of it. The gent and girl say that don't have much stuff themselves but plenty of room, they express an interest and he says they can have it.
The scene changes and the gent is walking up more familiar steep British streets while the girl dallies and plays mindlessly - they have a charming relationship. With them is the man in the shirt who is carrying the easel home for them (too far and heavy for an old man or a child) and as they talk and a kind of long forgotten peace and ease is apparent in the man as he carelessly talks to the gent and girl, enjoying thier company and the change of pace. The streets quiet as the day heads toward its close.
The three of them together were like the best things made whole (?)
As they near their destination the streets are now off road stone tracks and a Vista opens up before them ... the most beautiful and breathtaking sweep of fields and landscape - in twilight everything dusted in bronze - otherworldly and beautiful that go's on forever ... and with relief overwheming his regret (that he couldn't go back) the man in the shirt realizes this part of the journey at its end and that he is finally going home ... forever.
On awakening I felt conflicted yet comforted (?) He was getting rid of his easel, yet in the end it was the only thing he kept.
*To clarify ... "going home forever" ... like he could never catch up with the last rays of sunlight (?)
