Hello, as it says in the title, I am French and yes I live in France. No, I don't live in Paris. I live in Puget-Theniers. To help you locate it is quite close to Nice, on the French Riviera.

I come here to discover your way of practicing witchcraft. Because in France I would say that we still have a long way to go. Then we must recognize that most of the books we have on the subject are translations by English or American authors.
I apologize if my writings are sometimes approximate. As Dr. Strange would say, I am fluent in google translate.

I must admit that I have always had a little trouble with English classes.

I am 27 years old, and my first name is Celine ( Yes, like the singer Dion). In astrological sign I am fish ascending fish. I practice witchcraft alone because it is very difficult to find people who are invested in practicing regularly in a group. And there are very few covens in France.
I come from a family where my father is an atheist and my mother who grew up in a Christian faith without really practicing.
So I was able to make my way through the process with complete peace of mind. I made my discoveries through books and websites.

I regularly honor the Hekate goddess and I've always had a fascination for the maiden, mother, crone goddess aspect.

I have a fixed altar in my bedroom, I live in a small two-room apartment.

I love American series and movies in the fantasy genre. The Magicians, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Charmed ( fisrt version ), Salem, A Discovery Of Witches, Supernatural. Even if I have to admit that sometimes the representation of the witch is very far from reality. It remains a visual entertainment.

Right now I'm also looking The Handmaid's Tale, this series often gives me chills because it illustrates well the fanaticism of some monotheistic believers. The scene that gave me the chills was the one where you see the main character in a warehouse where you can see all the signs from Salem, Massachusetts.
It is quite easy to imagine that the city fell under the control of Gilead and that the witches once again suffered a fatal fate.

If you have any questions about French culture or anything else, don't hesitate, I would be happy to answer them.

Bienvenue Céline,

you‘ve got some neat sources on the occult in France. There's a lot of standing stones sites in Bretagne. I think there’s more power towards the southern part of the region and Quimper. When I went there, worried about many things, I suddenly felt like nothing of it really mattered anymore, in proximity of power like that it felt merely by it’s presence as a victory in life.

There are sources of magic in France definitely worth discovering in depth if you can hang around libraries and talk to people. There was Abbé Constant (Lévi) and his student Papus. Margaret Alice Murray wrote a book “ The Witch cult in Western Europe “ and she left a lot of texts there in medieval French without any translation to English.
Astrologist Dane Rudhyar wrote probably the most relevant books in the field of astrology.

A question about your culture?
I once met a painter who told me he had a gallery of contemporary art in Montpellier. I think his name was Joachim Bernes but I might have misspelled it a bit and couldn’t find anything about him or his gallery on the net.
Also it would be neat to learn about the Templars from some old uncorrupted source.

En tout cas, enchanté!

Yes, we do have places in France known for their particular energy.
This is not surprising considering that the Gauls were there before the Romans and that they had beliefs almost identical to those of the Celtic people.

It is true that there are many people interested in witchcraft in Brittany because they have kept an open and curious mind through tales and legends.

But this is not necessarily the case in all regions of France, although there are places like the Cher department or Alsace where it is similar to Brittany.

Yes, it is true that there are the books of Ephilas Levy and Papus. But it only shows a certain vision of witchcraft with references to Kabbalah . I doubt that a person who knows nothing about it since understanding the deep meaning of his books.

For the art gallery, unfortunately I don't know the name. I am far from Montpellier. It is also possible that he has closed his gallery or moved elsewhere.

Thank you ^^.

I don't understand it much either. Some ideas are genuine, but most of the content seems to repeat how the God is great and awesome and all-graceful.

If they happen to speak Hebrew, which I don't, they say whole Torah has secret meaning encoded by numeral values of their letters, which is nice, but most of those codes are about how the God is great and awesome and all-graceful I suppose.

So if one suffers through this, their system offers many magical correspondence tables that make sense and work well.
It's a shame that by all that philosophy they remain well hidden.
