Welcome. I don't have much advice to add, except to check your local library for information. Most libraries have computers that you can use, and they may even have books on metaphysical and occult subjects. You might also be able to interest your wife in library visits. As far as tools, you may find yourself able to use visualization rather than physical tools. I haven't used tools in years, because visualization is easier for me. The exception is candle magic. That's another area where you might be able to avoid raised eyebrows, and colorful candles can be found for not a lot of money. If your wife really raises objections to your research, you can tell her that more information will give you a better understanding of things.

The library is an excellent idea. I downloaded the NOOK book “for beginners” from B&N yesterday as well. I am going to use my registration date here as the mark for the beginning of my year and a day. I think that’s reasonable. Expect many questions in the coming days (in other threads of course).

Questions are always welcome. Some of us old timers learn from newbie questions.

Indeed and merry meet again! I just got a wild-hair and found some old white-rock, calligraphy ink, and painted my first Runes!!! I am so stocked they turned out so good that I just had to tell somebody!

That sounds exciting. I love being creative. Which runes did you paint?

I painted on Germanic Runes. I don't have a lot of money (who does?) and I'm thrifty! Plus, by making the Runes myself, I put my positive energy into them! I am busy learning all their meanings and such now!
