At times such as this (19 Feb) a lot of the turmoil is about darkness and what it means to be alone. Hence I would suggest meditating on Light would be a good idea. Just a suspicion, but I believe if you initiate your magic "objectively" you'll love it. :)

Hi & welcome aboard. Happy up-coming birthday. IMO a 10 minute daily meditation keeps the wheels greased, so to speak. There's all kinds of methods - like active meditation while rollerblading. The rhythm of repetative motion aids relaxing the mind. As for spell casting ... It saves money & grows your skills if you use what you have on hand. Anything else ... Just ask.

Edit - I had an after thought. Know why an item or ingredient or action is part of a spell so that you understand it's role in the spell. If they're just a random & meaningless collection of things copied out of a book then you're fooling yourself. The spell has to be real to you to make a change in the real world.

Hello Valkyrie and welcome in.

My favourite place for meditation is somewhere outdoors, you're from South Africa? You guys have stunningly beautiful nature out there. Go somewhere peaceful and quiet on a sunny day, if you can find a little waterfall or any moving water near you, try that place. Sound of waves or flowing water is such an amazing ambient to cool your mind and quiet down needless thoughts. For me sound or lack of it has had a very positive effect on my meditation, nature usually does the trick so easily. :)

For spell tips dig the forum. There's so much interesting stuff to read and try out. And what SpiritTalker just said, I also have to make due with what ever I get my hands on. So with ingredients, improvise and maybe you could find a lot of things from your beautiful outdoors? You guys must have ton of things growing out there which can be used to boost your craft.
