Christian Witch

Hello, I'm a 49 year old male who is new at Christian Witchcraft. I'm hoping to learn much from folks here. A little about myself- my dream is to be a comedy-horror filmmaker. I have a background in acting and directing. That dream is currently being placed on hold until I finish my degree to teach elementary school kids.

My mom was able to see ghosts and the supernatural. The few times she dabbled for fun, she got results- such as actually seeing images in a crystal ball- which freaked her out big time and sent her running away from it. Her Christian roots made taught her witchcraft was bad. She would roll over in her grave knowing I've become a Christian Witch. LOL

I always wished I had her ability, but so far I haven't been able to see the spiritual like she could. Perhaps one day...

Anyway, thanks for letting me join. Solitary Witchcraft can be lonely.

Merry Meet and a very warm welcome! That is cool you are a film maker and actor! I think it is awesome you are getting your teacher's degree too, congratulations and very good for you! My Mother was a Christian too, I am sure she still loves me, no matter what, as I am sure yours does too. People fear what they do not understand. I am even guilty of that. I have grown very much spiritually tho, and I truly have this forum to thank for much of that. There is so much information posted here! I hope you enjoy your stay and make worthy friends.

Blu-Luna, thank for the welcome, too! My mom and dad have passed, so I don't have to worry about their reaction, thankfully. However, I still have to be in the broom closet because of closed minds and ignorance from others since I'm working with kids. That's why it was so important for me to find a forum with similar minded people.

I enjoy working with kids, and I'll be off school during summers, etc- I hope this will allow me to pursue being a microbudget comedy-horror film maker as a living. The arts is extremely hard to make a living with.

Welcome to you as well! It's great to see that one can start at any time in their life.

Yep. As said, my mom had the talent to see shadow people, ghosts, veils, etc in everyday life. Not sure if it skips generations or not, but I've always wanted to see that as well!

For me, harmony of nature, casting spells and helping others makes sense.

Hello, welcome to the forum. I too still use some Christian aspects in my practice. Be forewarned there is a lot of debate on whether someone can “be” a Christian witch. Most assume a Christian witch is being called to the craft but is simply too afraid to let go of Christianity so they merge both. For myself it isn’t fear but I feel that the Christian religion has been corrupted and isn’t true to what it should be. So some parts work, and others are just rubbish. And I think Jesus is a deity just the same and as the only deity I was allowed to grow up with I have formed a spiritual relationship with him & I’m not going to just forgo that relationship just because someone else is abusing the formal religion.

I did finally drop the term Christian witch though. I’m an eclectic witch (which is more fitting) who takes practices from many different traditions and makes my own practice that suits me. And it works! I believe it’s more about intention than tool or tradition. Plus, I’m also a strong strong believer in the ancient astronaut theory so eclectic works for me LOL.

Having a Christian family can be difficult. They just won’t ever understand fully. The traditional Christian teachings will tell them its their responsibility to God to “witness” to us and “save” us and our souls. It’s easier to just avoid it if possible. It’s hard to blame them because you know they think this is the most important calling their God will ever ask of them, it’s almost admirable of those who refuse to give up. But, it’s sooo annoying to be the one they think needs “saved”. It’s almost easier to avoid it all together. If not all family gatherings somehow become a religious debate. And I use to mess with them. I knew exactly which bible verses to question to them, I know what facts I could state that would shake them up and even have them questioning their own beliefs. But, I didn’t like that either. Why would I want to be the one to shatter a person’s faith they have spent 57 years building up? Even if I’m right, that’s a pretty shitty thing to do.

Anyways, enough about me, back to you. This forum is great and helpful! Search old posts and post new questions as they come to you. When I first started I started with candle magick, tarot, & crystals but follow your own instincts and you’ll end up learning what you’re meant to. Good luck!

Rosie

Heyya Rosie. Thanks for the well wishes! There is debate amongst witches on being a Christian Witch, but most of the people I have met are very caring and "live and let live" people. I I have found more acceptance with witches than mainstream Christians, that's for sure- although many have a kind heart.

You are absolutely correct on the "saving you because we care" with fundamental Christians- even to the point of trying to convert each other to their own denominations. I didn't like that game, nor the "we'll tell you who to hate" game. Wish I could find a Christian Witch coven around here to explore.

Let's all help each other and continue to care for the Earth, Universe and each other.
