BlueSpell's Altar Stone

Hey everyone! I don't actually have an altar but I created this altar stone that I use in my practice. I like to make things by hand if possible as I feel more connected to things. This stone has been very useful for me because in the moonlight the interesting patterns in the rock shift if you concentrate on them and it makes a great object to focus on.

As an aside, I've been looking to get something to represent the Goddess Selene for my practice, but I haven't found anything suitable yet. Anyone have any ideas on a good statue or other object to represent Selene?

I like the home made tools best too.
You might use a selenite sphere for Selene.

Oh that’s a great idea! I looked into it further and selenite seems like a fantastic representation. Thanks for the tip! [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]

That's really cool, how is it drawn on there? Did you use a Dremel type tool?

Thanks! I actually just scraped it with a metal file by hand, following some patterns i drew on with chalk. In the future i may neaten it up with a dremel and add a few more sigils around the edges. Didn’t want to make it too complex/busy though because i love the stone’s patterns.

I don’t have many tools in my practice; just this, a small athame, and a few small glasses I use for water (I love rituals utilizing water as the primary element!). I typically just grab household items like bowls or whatnot for anything else I need!

oh nice! even better that it was all your own elbow grease that created it :fairy:
I like shopping at thrift stores for some of my ritual items, I'm always on the prowl for good wooden bowls or other interesting stuff.

Find a crescent moon carved in a light-coloured, almost white wood.

Excellent idea! I found some selenite carved as moons on etsy I’m considering! I’ll have to see what feels right! [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]
