It's just my opinion, & not knowing you in person, but just from your comments, i feel you may possibly be building up a somewhat fantastical concept of spirit possession. An attached spirit can be someone who is stuck, frightened, angry or (?) and J would have had to have come in contact with the entity and accepted it's attachment by some act or vulnerability.

You had mentioned J might have some dissociative personality issues. Is that for sure? had you ever observed differences? Would you know it if you did?

I've felt some pretty gnarly vibes from living people who behaved outwardly normal & turned out to be multiple murderers, so I can't imagine a creepy spirit capable of a. attachment & b. of influencing behaviors wouldn't exude some noticeable vibes.

I may have found something helpful. I'm reading "Thought Forms" by Annie Bessant &' Charles Leadbeater. In the chapter titled "three classes of thought forms" on pg. 38 it says about the 3rd class which take on their own quasi-life force in the astral:

"Thought forms directed towards individuals produce marked effects, these effects being either partially reproduced in the aura of the recipient and so increasing the total result, or repelled from it. A thought of love and of desire to protect, directed strongly towards some beloved object, creates a form which goes to the person thought of, and remains in his aura aS a shielding and protecting agent; it will seek all opportunities to serve, and all opportunities to defend, not by a conscious and deliberate action, but by a blind following of the impulse impressed upon it, and it will strengthen friendly forces that impinge on the aura & weaken unfriendly one's. Thus may we create and maintain veritable guardian angels round those we love. ..."

This is a talent that can be practiced to increase it's efficacy. It can be done to help someone in your immediate presence if they are under some negative circumstance. It takes longer to learn the concentration to do it at a distance, but not much longer. It is well worth it to cultivate this ability. As an Adept of the Light, we call it Angelos Scapulos Ostios, Angel on the Shoulder. You can, with practice, supply protection, healing, calm, energy to help with tasks both physical and mental, a whole plethora of effects.

OK so il post a update here as well as i know not everyone followed my other tread. So last night i did the banishing ritual i invoked Isis and Ra and arch angel Michael (but he was purely for my own protection). So i started by casting the circle calling the quartet's and then praying to Michael for his protection. After this I then invoked isis and ra and then lit a black candle and began chanting the banishing spell. So much happened to me during the ritual positive wise that was slightly confusing like at one point when I said demon my voice went deeper than normal and then I got into fits of hysterics when I was commanding the entity to return to the earth to be cleansed and purified (however my friend informed me both of these most likely happened due to.the influence of ra and Isis). Then after wards i did a elemental protection spell for Josh asking the elements to protect him until me and him have sorted things out so i da teach him to shield because while that boy is my best friend and like a brother to me i am not his supernatural protector lol. Overall it felt great i will admit i was partially worried with my slight addiction to the darker energies that it would just take over and ruin everything but I remained in control.

Well i was doing a spell to help him heal yesterday from all the hurt distance and animosity we both caused between us. I had done chanting the spell which i did when i got this idk impulse i guess to talk to him as if he was right in front of me. After this i noticed a presence around me it wasn't negative but positive so being that i suck at communicating with spirits i managed to use the candle i was using as fire representation and got the presence to manipulate the flame. Over all the spirit was claiming to be his spirit guide and it said it had a message for me but it wouldn't tell me what.

Be careful of evil dressed in sheep's clothing. It's just too convenient. I believe you mentioned that Josh hadn't done anything with the Craft. It would have you believe it was a protector of Josh. One who let him down when this negative entity came into his life. One who had not been summoned by Josh, but was there any way. Cleanse your home and yourself.

I actually managed to connect with Isis via pendulum today and she told me it was his spirit guide who came to me yesterday. I agree it failed him but then again from what I've been told by another witch Josh has witch potential and apparently im supposed to help him /how idk. Also apparently me and Josh according to my spirit guides are i suppose soul brothers/family.
Oh and on a unrelated note to Josh my guide also informed me that i do have a connection to ancient Egypt in a past life and i was a worshipper of Isis then

Go with what you feel is right. Your gut feelings are the ones to go with. Intuition is right 99 times out of 100. I just didn't see the spirit guide of Josh as creditable. You are much closer to all of the situation than I am.

While i agree his spirit guide isn't exactly very creddiblr (heck it let a demon nearly takr him and it would ave if it wasn't for me) my own spirit guide explained some stuff to me. Like me and him being in the same soul family and that he did/does still consider me his best friend and brother. Il be honest it didn't feel negative at all. However i have already told my friend once me and Josh have sorted things out im teaching that boy to ground centre and shield as i am not gonna be his supernatural SOS lol

I think teaching him the basics is a splendid idea. It will be good for you both.

Plus my friend does think he has potential lol. Il admit im about apprehensive about teaching him due to the fact i suppose in mine and his friendship i view the craft as my thing lol
