Everything Under the Moon

This was a few years ago, before I believed in ghosts or magick and such. My shaman friend was showing me his favorite cemetery, and a particular old wooden shed there that was pretty broken down, but he said it made him comfortable enough to even sleep there a number of times. He wanted me to go in and see if I felt the same thing, and I was just there like "yeah alright, I'll humor you lol". But the exact instant I stepped in the shed's doorway, I felt a large hand touch my cheek, then brush against the side of my neck and rest on my shoulder. It only lasted about a second, during which I completely froze because it startled me, but it had a very welcoming feeling. Like it was happy i came to visit, I swear I remember feeling it gently pulling me inside.
Of course after the initial couple seconds of shock, I immediately questioned my friend about it. He didn't feel anything had happened at all, but when I explained it, he said he wasn't surprised. Apparently there used to be a very small school on that hill where the cemetery is now, so he suspected it might be the teacher from there.

Thoughts, anyone?

That would be a strange teacher in my opinion. The spirit was either of the opposite gender or maybe a child. I never had such experiences, but from what I heard, children-spirits tend to be very loving, touchy and looking for attention or even love.

Didn't you try to ask the spirit? With an Oija board or a different ritual...

If it's in a cemetery, could be someone buried there. Any graves near the shed that could give you a clue? Maybe a gentle old man missing his grandchildren.

It seems a stretch for olden-time manners to not have shaken hands instead. I don't get a connection between a teacher's spirit & a broken down shed in a cemetery. If it were the former school house, I could see it. Once we're disembodied, we've got the whole Universe to experience, so why stick to a shed?

Maybe it was the shed itself, or the cemetery, welcoming you? I've read of instances where places take on their own energy and can project that energy in a variety of ways. It certainly sounds like a gesture saying, "Welcome. Rest here if you like."

Ok update on this, kind of..

Out of everyone's interpretations and musings and such, Heartsong's seems to have been the most accurate. I visited the place again, the weather is beautiful today, and i just went and sat at where the shed used to be. By this point it had broken down enough for some unknown people to actually tear it down, but the concrete slab it sat on is still here. It felt very comforting, i even laid down for a while. There's a tree here, and after a little bit of laying under it, i could feel its energy. It was protective and gentle, so i decided to talk with them for a bit.

I have decided to name them the mom tree, because their personality was mother-like. They may have been the one who touched my face those couple years ago.
