Old World Witchcraft Blog: Simple & Easy Banishing Ritual

I haven't used this spell, but I plan to in the near future. It seemed rather helpful so I thought I'd share :flyingwitch:

Sage always works well in banishes. If you have, you can add some rosemary. When I want to clean a room or a house, first "cut" the negative energy using your hand as a blade from center of room in every corner, floor and roof too. Repeat in each room and then pass the smudge stick. Always, always, always leave a window open to outside to let negative energies go out the room.

Hope it helps.

Also to air out the house. :P It can get quite smoky in enclosed spaces when using sage.

.

Sage always smells similar to weed to me. I feel like going outside after I sage the house and saying to neighbors, "It's...it's not what you think. Really. No, really, it's not...."

Lol

I've been told that's because a lot of weed mixes actually contain sage. I couldn't say from personal experience though, the only drugs I've ever really been into are caffeine and small bits of alcohol.

Hah. @Kassandra .... Every time I smudge , I swear my kids bring home a new friend. I have actually had my kids say. " the house just smells like weed because my mom is a pothead". And then I go to beat them and they laugh. Hahahah. " just kidding it's sage". Then the kid comes in and next thing ya know my son is showing them my crystals. Howlite penises are pretty funny. Never fails.

" No I'm not on drugs I swear. I'm just weird".

I desire to banish negative energy from myself. Being of desire and want this could be seen as negative to me. However this personal want is for outwardly good reason. Not that it wouldn't hold within it benefit for myself, but that this benefit would be secondary to the prime reason and goal.

I generally wouldn't and won't cast any spell or stray too far from core personal belief in attempts to attain such a goal. I have, however, witnessed some sort of truth from readers. Even ones that had no exact understanding of their findings or there relevence. So, yeah, any words in response would be appreciated. Looking for help in my path. I understand that there are boundaries that I dare not cross, yet it is my belief that all is of One, and as such we can help one another.

Peace, really.

Is not the same odour, but pretty similar. Common sage (salvia officinalis) works as a tobacco substitute, pharmacies sells little sage cigarettes.

Weed from black market in USA comes mainly from Mexico, packed with lots of dangerous chemicals. No wonder it contains sage and other herbs too.

It sounds like you're very nervous of doing any magical work, which I can understand if you're just starting out. What I don't understand is why you would see "being of desire and want" could be seen as negative. There is nothing negative about wishing to cleanse yourself of negative energy which would only help you to move forward spiritually.

Anyway, would you be comfortable taking a cleansing bath? You don't even have to go and buy anything special (unless you wish to, of course)- you can use things you probably have in the house such as salt, ammonia and vinegar. For the salt and vinegar you can use equal parts but be careful with the ammonia - only use a tablespoon. As you are cleansing yourself you can pray to your own deity. Doing this on a waning moon will help and it should be done for at least three days.
