smudge?

Until a man duplicates a blade of grass, Nature can laugh at his so-called scientific knowledge. Remedies from chemicals will never stand in favorable comparison with the products of Nature, the living cell of a plant, the final result of the rays of the sun, the mother of all life.

if you want to make a smudge stick with fresh herbs do you make it then dry it or dry the herb first then make it?

With white sage, I bundle each the day I cut them, then hang 'em up to dry. I also bundle fresh black sage, rosmary and lavender all to gether ...but not too much at one time, and hang to dry. Other herbs I have used are purple sage, sagebrush (artimesia tridentata, and artemisia californica) as well as artemisia douglasii, which is mugwort. So to answer your question I would say, yes...do it while they are fresh, but not too much in one bundle and leave air room between the bundles that are drying. Additionally I would like to say, when wrapping them, use a natural twine like hemp or pure cotton. No synthetics of ANY kind...you will be breathing this. Blessings Firebird
