Nervous Breakdown

Postby stormofwind » Fri Jul 26, 2019 9:05 pm

So for months after a friends divorce I get little communication
out of her yeah yep okay fine..
And getting forgetful like not telling me she got a job
oh I forgot I'm going through things..
I knew things are not good I expected some depression
Everything is put in perspective ..
Why she has been withdrawn no laughter always tired..
never getting any sleep choosing the wrong things
to do to make he sadness go away.
angry brain fog just not there
She needs help..
And she lives with her parents I hope they have been seeing
the signs like I have.
I'm at loss what to do.

Be there for them. I wish I had more to say, but that’s all I have at the moment.

I believe you mentioned this woman had got away from an abusive relationship, right? are we talking about the same woman?
All the symptoms you mentioned are typical for someone who has been abused. It will take time, and it will take much longer if she doesn't get help. There are many domestic violence outreach groups. You could help by finding several of these types of locations, (some charge a minimal amount but some are free) and writing them down with the phone numbers and particulars so that all she has to do is the dialing. Make a copy because she might loose the first one. Be supportive by not pushing, If she doesn't call right away, let it go. You could also find informative videos about abuse and how to heal from it, and send her the links. Never insist that she do a thing, she just got away from someone who was controlling their life and if you try to make her do anything she will be triggered which will cause a snowball effect of anger and resentment.
