Honoring Spirits in My Work

Postby Howellmeh » Sun Feb 09, 2020 5:23 pm

Hello everyone!
I am fairly new to the magical community, and still trying to figure out exactly where I fit in, so I’m sorry in advance if this question doesn’t make much sense or needs further context...
I work in restoration - both for paid work and as a fun, past time. I feel a draw to restore and preserve anything and everything that I can, as I feel it is very important to honor and have record of times past. I have begun to wonder lately if this has to do with my spiritual practice. If anyone has any comments on that, I would love to hear them, but my main question is this: how do I be sure that I am honoring the dead who these objects once belonged to in my work. I want to be sure not to disrespect or overlook them if there is something I should be doing otherwise. Thank you in advance to anyone who answers!

If you’re familiar with empathy - & I’d bet you are - see the item through their eyes when you’re in contact with the item. Then let your hands restore what you saw as able. That’d be my suggestion of one approach anyway.

Foster telepathy and act with reverence. You can never be entirely sure but that's life.

In northern Spain I met a restaurant in chapel from year 100. He did it voluntarily and he appeared quite satisfied. He's getting blessing for his work (spiritually). Nice chapel, no cross at top of a roof but rather a bird, probably dove... that was very nice to see. He told me the walls where built from a mixture that contained sea water back then.

I went to Kaisergruft in Vienna with a lots of royalty buried there. Got some good vibes from few of them so I bought flowers to put there (because people can leave them down in the crypt).

Thank you both so much for your responses, I look forward to any move I receive, but I wanted to check in and say that I appreciate your time in responding, and you have given me paths to think about and research and utilize. I appreciate all the help and advice I can get as I start on this journey.
Have a wonderful day,
Miranda
