Holding Space for our Communities

Postby gaiagirl » Tue Oct 12, 2010 11:39 pm

As a mature witch, I sometimes forget the power that older folks have in community settings. I was reminded of this when I recently had a rite of passage and was given the gift of hearing from my coven members. They told me in turn how I have affected them, and I was completely surprised by their words. What I'm saying here is that the younger folks in our Craft communities really look to us, and they take notice of our actions.

As mature Pagans, we need to keep in mind that the younger people in our covens and traditions need us to hold our lineages, our traditions, and our covens. Never underestimate your impact on the young people who surround you. To them, you are the Wise Ones.

That must have been a very special occasion for you and I'm very glad you got to have that experience. And it is good of you to remind us here of the value of our years. Thanks for sharing.
