What i do is if i'm outside, i make a circle that isn't compltely closed. I enter the circle, close it behind me, then call the elements in (i place items that represent them so they can enter).
Other, easier, methods i use are visualizations. Like, when i call on earth or fire to join the circle, i imagine a fire ball...or a mud ball. The same goes for water and air.
I also call on the element Spirit. When that batch of white enters my 'space', i imagine a white, STRONG line closing around us--forming a circle.
Sorry if that was a bit confusing, but the bubble method, people always use. Just think about a white, blue etc. etc, ball forming around you and the elements.

Ummm, sometimes i visualize that my energy forms ripples under my feet and then the ripples "stop" to make a circle.
Or i picture a glowing circle around me, shining, and glistering!
other than that i lay a colorfull cord around me to symbolize the circle, my room is pretty small so i cant make a big good circle!
AAhh one time i drew a circle on the sand when i was at the beach at night

Or you can grab a stone of some sort and draw the symbol for fire.

Don't call me crazy but im an aries and im born with the element of the wind. I know that because every time i feel the wind blowing i feel so good. its my opinion because, i don't like fire. i hate how it feels hot on my skin. im at peace with the world with the wind. im angry, frusterated with the fire. im so weird. i agree. the first thing that pops up into my mind when i think about the wind is the compass pointing east, a spring landscape. so call me weird i don't care what ever. i like my element way better than fire. :type:

hello everyone, im new here and recently I have gotten very very interested in all this. Ive been reading books, looking stuff up on the internet, and just now i came upon this website. Ive been reading all the post and I was wondering if someone could help me understand and learn more. I am very into this and I can't really tell you why im into it. I just woke up one day and couldn't get it out of my mind so I started reading and then I got even more interested. I do know about the 4elements. But I want to know more "a lot more". I want to know anything and everything I can. So if anyone can help me that would be great. Thanks

Not having an entire room for my alter and having a hubby to share the room with
leaves only a few places to put my alter. The alter sits in the southeast corner of the room,
and when I lay my head down it's in the western area of the room. I read that if you have
your head in the south it's hard to get to sleep, something about it being to "busy" ???
I usually face the alter and go clockwise from that, no matter which way its set up.

I think the elements are related to density, earth then water then fire then air, because oil can burn on top of water so itd make sense fire is between air and water, then besides that its only a matter of different levels of density, which reminds me of metal for the chinese one mentioned on the first page, because the core of the earth is super condensed metal, so for some reason I heard 6 is for the physical plane in numerology or somehtign, so I figure if theres 6 elements itd also be closer to the chakras for the human which is 7 different chakras, but anyways I wonder if radiation is a part of fire or not also, light being a part of radiation can go very deep into the ocean and such, but because the elements also form a circle together itd have to be unique to wind up at earth again.

So I think it should be

1metal
2earth
3water
4fire
5air
6plasma/radiation/light/electromagnetism.

this way it goes full circle because the electromagnetic fields are generated from the metal inside the earth rotating and it protects us from excess sun radiation... which actually means that radiation should be seperate from the fields perhaps which would cause a 7th element then I could try to work it in with the chakras, but idunno lol.

what do you think?

Also light is already associated with the upperchakras anyways so it could make sense.

and the heart is associated with wind chakra, but then if I did have these six chakras wind would have to be throat which also makes more sense because our blood is rust colored and when something rusts its like it is slowly burning, so the ehart would be related to fire chakra anyways, which could be related to 'a firey passion' and such anyways, the upper chakra being wind makes sense cuz thats where we speak from. But why they prolly had the heart be wind is because the lungs absorb the air and put it into our bloodstream. But i forget what the upper chakras were for elements besides ether and light perhaps?
