Postby ShinobiGizmo » Mon Jan 30, 2012 11:48 am

There's a BoS on here, but no Dream journals, that i've seen. So i thought i'd suggest. Til then, i'll make my mine and put it under Paganism, Witchcraft, and Wicca.

Interesting! I actually just finished filling up my own dream journal: I included dreams, lucidity, intense meditations, occasional tarot readings, dream interpretations, dreams other people have that I appeared in and notes from a hypnosis I underwent. Very fascinating stuff! Time to start a new one :)

Actually itd be udner dreams and sleep issues, or some other place, I have had a dream journal but i forget where I placed it and i discontinuued it, but they do help alot with having dreams be more frequent and longer, but I am not sure how to make my dreams more lucid through a journal yet.

Thanks Rose and Kei for input. :) i like all the ways you listed in what you put into your journal, Rose! And Kei, true that. I am not sure whether i have lucid ones or not.

Kei, I usually tell people wanting to work on lucidity (something I need to work on more myself!) that journaling is to help with recall. If you need to recall your dreams to write them down, you start recognizing what usually pops up in your dreams and it helps when it comes to interpretations too.

Oh. I do ok recalling my dreams, i think. Lol the way i can describe them. But i never feel like i am in control of whoever i am in my dreams. In my dreams, i just watch and observe and feel and think.

Being lucid and control are two different things...perhaps you have been lucid more than you thought? :)

Well knowing you are dreaming, and controlling your dreams are both related to lucidity.

And I already know a journal helps with recall, the issue is having lucid dreams, I dont seem to have them anymore. I used to when I was a kid, and I heard people can astral project out of a lucid dream also.

And I dont bother interpretting my dreams, I never thought to interpret them when I was little either. But if I were to interpret a dream I would do it myself, not let some random stuff on the internet try and help because it was a creation of my mind not theirs.

Yep! Everyone's mind is so unique and fine-tuned that the best person to interpret (with the help of a dream diary, I find to search for re-occurring incidents/symbols) is usually you. But I find that, as an interpreter myself, that most people have been raised in the same culture and ideas are understood universally almost.

On lucidity though, have you tried perhaps a mediation before bed? My friend swears by it and she consistently goes lucid, so I suppose it works. She has herself mediate on something like an octopus so when an octopus comes up in the dream, she remembers that she was supposed to see an octopus in her dream and realize that this is the dream and she goes lucid. It could work.

I don't think i've ever had control but i always know i'm dreaming. I find something in the dream that doesn't add up in real life. Dreams to me always have a certain sense. I feel that sense in my mind if i can't tell firsthand if it's reality or dream. But most times, i can tell because of surroundings. I'll think to myself- "now hold on, ...here i am at whtever dream location, where and what do i remember last.... Oh, that's right...lying down in my bed...so these 2 don't match up." if that don't work, i pay attention to the details. Dreams will always have something not adding up. Usually, if i am almost fooled then the dream will either have me be a male or i breathe underwater.

That's a good idea. I added a Dream Journal forum as a subforum under "Dreaming and Sleep" (I removed the word "Issues" from "Dreaming and Sleep Issues".)
