cedar resin??

Postby Truthseeker » Fri Mar 02, 2012 12:56 pm

OK- I don't know where to post this, so here goes---
I went out to gather cedar to make smudge bundles, this morning. I came to the tree that I felt I was supposed to gather from. It felt as though the tree was just delighted to give of itself and be a participant.(That felt so good) But as I was gathering I felt that I was being instructed to take loose strips of the feathery bark also. Then I had the 'thought' that I was to gather pieces of resin that had dried on the tree. At first I could not see any.And I said "ok show me, if I am supposed to do this- show me" and as I looked I began to find tiny pearls of hard dried resin. VERY, Very minute amounts, but I felt that was all I needed or was supposed to get. I am going to incorporate the bark strips into my smudge bundles but the resin pearls I am putting into a tiny jar for future use. What? Does anyone have any wisdom here? Is there a signifigance to the use of cedar resin in witchcraft/ ritual??

You can use cedar resin the same as you would the bark- in incenses. Personally, the resin will smell better than the bark by itself. I collect pine resin because I prefer burning it in incense than the bark. Also, you can melt it onto magickal items (like wands) and it looks quite pretty and infuses the item with cedars magickal uses.
