"Broke-A** Witchery" Series by Nornoriel Lokason

Pardon the French in the title, but this has been a very good series that I've been following on the Pagan Patheos blog channel (which, by the way, always has great articles to read). Nornoriel Lokason has blogged extensively about the Vanaheim (for all you who work with the Norse pantheon) and has authored several books on the subject. I generally enjoy most things he's written, but I felt like his recent blog series, "Broke-A** Witchery", was particularly informative about how to practice witchcraft on a budget.

Broke-A** Witchery: Part 1. He discusses the question, do you even need tools at all to practice witchcraft? There are some kinds of magic that are free!

Broke-A** Witchery: Part 2. This post is all about thrifting and how to snag some very cool used things for cheap.

Broke-A** Witchery: Part 3. He discusses when you SHOULD splurge a little bit for a nice ritual item.

Broke-A** Witchery: Part 4. Cheap and easy substitutions for common ritual items, like athames, oils, etc.

Broke-A** Witchery: Part 5. I thought this one was particularly interesting; he talks about offerings for the gods and goes beyond just the traditional food and drink. I hadn't thought to, for instance, go on a walk or see a movie with a deity as part of devotional practice!

Will keep this updated as more comes out! : )

That sounds interesting and realistic. I think some people feel like they're slacking when they don't have all the traditional stuff because they paid the rent or bought groceries instead of buying tools.

I love this so far, and scanning I saw they have ways to practice witchcraft for those who suffer from Invisible illness like myself. I shared this with my school's pagan club. (:

Hooray for the next installment!

Part 7, about how to keep an altar if you don't have a lot of space. One comment (not Nornoriel) even mentions the possibility of using Pinterest as a digital altar space!
