Beautiful! It doesn't look like a first try.

And this is about a two foot elk tine...

It has spirals , designs people said looked Mayan , and
some that looked more Maori , or Polynesian...

You are only seeing one side , of course...;)

This is a "scimitar" , with elk handle , recycled ebony wood end and guard ,
and a mule deer tine as the "blade"...about 2 1/2 feet long...

Done in my first year of carving...;)

( all my pieces are made from natural sheds , or drops...no animal killed by me )

Thank you , Binxy Hollow...

I have done about 200 pieces by now...

A lot more photographs to show...

And I do small necklace pieces , large ones , staffs and canes ,
knives and swords , ( mostly no metal ) , skulls and bones ,
and have with help from a friend , made a copper crown , with antlers...

Still at it...or will be when it warms up on my deck , and workplace...;)

Will post more later , or tomorrow...

Awesome I look forward to seeing more images. Might attempt it myself for when I get a skull for my altar.

What do you use to carve them?

A dremel tool with a few different ball burr bits...

Sometimes I use a Shinto rasp file ( great tool ) ,
to take off ridges , spurs , or even a point...

Then , five grits of sandpaper...120 , 220 , 400 , 600 , 1500 grit...

Thanks for asking !

Sorry I did not see your post Oura Simone;
I did not mean to ignore you at all.

Either I have found natural shed drop antlers and horns or others bring them to me in trade, or just to give them
to me, as they know what I am doing, and love my work.

The water buffalo horn was brought from the Philippines.

Thank you for your appreciation, and welcome here!
