Anti-Scam and Fraud Information

Postby Seraphin_npocampo » Sun Mar 29, 2015 12:01 am

OVERVIEW

EUTM Forum provides a fast, convenient and reliable way to ask, discuss and tackle questions and ideas about magick, witchcraft and paganism. However, we urge our members (especially beginners in magick and the Craft) to be more vigilant against "frauds and scams". Prior to accepting any offer, we advise our members to exercise caution in dealing with people who provide free services but whose whole intention is just to extort personal information.

Keep the following tips in mind:

  • Never give personal information (e-mail, bank account no., credit/debit card no.) to strangers.
  • Beware of deals or opportunities that seem too-good-to-be-true.
  • Never send money to pay for a supposed to be free program.

COMMON FRAUDS AND SCAMS

  • Free Mentoring Program Scam
  • Network Marketing Scam
  • Fraud Spell Casters

HELPFUL TIPS

Protect yourself. Use these tips against frauds and scam.

Be cautious if:

  • You receive a too-good-to-be-true offer. For example, offering a mentoring service for free or at a cheap price.
  • You are informed that you are accepted to some online school or you have a reserved place in some class when in fact you never enrolled yourself to any school or class.
  • You receive an e-mail or private message inviting you to visit a website that offers some services, etc.
  • You are asked to pay fees or other charges in exchange for an answer to your questions or inquiries.
  • Someone responds to your thread saying that they could provide guidance and counsel if you join their organization.
  • You are offered a discount or scholarship, but first you must register to their website and provide some of your personal information.

Always:

  • Learn as much as you can about members who offer free services, especially if the only information you have is their username, their website or e-mail address.
  • Exercise higher caution when you are interested to buy their offers.
  • Only purchase goods and services from trusted sources.
  • Discontinue any transaction or cut any ties if someone coaches you on ways to respond to questions asked by EUTM Staff. It is a sure sign of a fraud.
  • Contact the Staff immediately if you are suspicious of a solicitation or invitation received via PM or e-mail or if you are being harassed by predators or scammers.

Remember:

  • We do not provide free mentoring services or any escrow offers and we are not responsible for the quality or the non-receipt of any services that advertised here.
  • Do not trust any user with a fictitious name and has a low post count.
  • If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
